Identity

Galatians 4

 ¹ What I am saying is that as long as heirs are underage they are no different from slaves, although they own the whole estate. ² They are subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by their fathers. ³ So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces ^[a] of the world. ⁴ But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, ⁵ to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. ^[b] 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, ^[c] Father." ⁷ So you are no longer slaves, but God's children; and since you are his children, he has made you also heirs.

I am a prince, I am royalty.  Regardless of where I started, I will end with Him.

Identity is so blurred today, bent out of shape and shattered.  I meet people each day who find identity in everything that is temporal rather than eternal.

What if rather than finding my identity as a:

Pastor

Husband

Son

Friend

Father

Male

I identified myself as God's Son.

How would it change my life?  Would I act different?

Prayer-

Thank you God for adopting me.

Bless me with finding my identity in you only.

Bless me with all the rights and authority that comes with being in your family

Prayer from Sunday

I have been asked to share what the prayer was that I prayed over our church on Sunday.  Here is the basic outline, depending on which service you went to the prayer was tailored to what God was saying to me at the time I prayed.  Here it is:

Prayer

Heavenly father - I pray over our church and our people.  I ask God that you break the Generational sins and curses in our lives, Through our mothers and our fathers and through all of our future generations. God we break inappropriate Soul connections with those who are not our husband or our wife as well as those that do not glorify you.  I break curses that have been said over us and by us. (That we are ugly, worthless, destroy, wanting to die etc...) I proclaim that we are children of God who are loved, worthy, accepted and want to live, etc...  I ask God that your blood that was shed on the cross would cover us and clean us and that you would stand between us and our enemies.

I ask God that your Spirit would empower us and fill us with power.  I ask God that your spirit would comfort us and bring life into our church so that we might serve you!
