II Peter 1:3-9
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
I like Peter, he seems to make things simple and straight forward to me. He says them in ways that I can understand. The leader of the disciples tells me that I need to work at and pay attention to my actions and that the result will be brotherly affection for all. That is a simple spiritual thermometer. You either have love for all or you don't.
I fall short of this thermometer and have so much more to work towards.
Prayer -
God show me love so that I may model it.
Give me love so that I might share it.
Show me who I do not love and call me to change it.
amen
Both your dad and I were amazed at how much your kids pray like you. Keep modeling because they are following! MOM
